NoobXL (NAI-XL Guide)¶
NoobXL is an anime model developed by Laxhar Lab. Trained on the modern Danbooru dataset, NoobXL excels at generating new characters, multiple characters, and aesthetic scenes, with embedded artist styles that enhance visual quality.
Below is a guide to get you started with using the NoobXL model.
Prompt Format¶
Understanding the prompt format is essential:
Format: <1girl/1boy/1other/...>, <character>, <series>, <artists>, <description tags>, <quality tags>
We’ll break down each section below.
Character and Series Tags¶
NoobXL’s training on the Danbooru dataset includes pre-trained characters. Let's look at an example prompt to generate the character C.C. from the anime Code Geass:
Example Prompt:
1girl, c.c., code geass, green hair, long hair, white dress, upper body, looking down, seductive smile,
In this example, we specify the character (C.C.), her series (Code Geass), and her features like hair color and length. For original character creation, simply omit character and series tags. For instance, to create an Arabian princess:

1girl, green hair, long hair, golden necklace, arabian princess, veil, midriff, navel, upper body, looking down, seductive smile,
Tip
For established characters from anime series, testing the official preset can yield results that closely resemble the original style.
Artist Tags¶
NAI-XL handles artist tags effectively due to its Danbooru dataset training. Experiment with mixing and matching artist tags for unique styles. You can use artist tags in following format:
artist:(artist name)
Adjust tag strength by using brackets:
{{prompt}}– Strengthens by +0.2[[prompt]]– Weakens by -0.2
Quality Tags¶
NAI-XL supports common quality tags, including ‘best quality, 4k, masterpiece’, to enhance artwork quality. Above is an illustration of generation capabilities of the model with and without these tags. The image on left is without quality tags and image on right is with quality tags.
For more refined artwork, consider adding extra quality tags such as:
- Extremely detailed eyes and face
- Beautiful detailed girl (for female characters)
- Extremely detailed CG
- Extremely delicate and beautiful
Above is an image comparison. The image on the left only has default quality tag option selected and the image on the right has the quality tags option and the extra quality tags added.
By default the AniGen quality tags only add the default given quality tags for the model such as ‘best quality, masterpiece’. So you will have to add the above tags manually. Not all users may want the above tags, and some might want sketches, or other artistic styles, which is the main reason why we didn’t include the above tags for the quality tags option.
